What Type of Garage Door do I need?
Roller Garage Door
A Roller Shutter Garage Door rises vertically upwards and rolls around a drum instead of traveling into the garage on tracks.
No door frame is required which increases the available drive-through width.
The doors offer good security and good protection against the weather with a seal all around the door.
Roller doors are manufactured in Steel or Aluminium and can be specified with or without insulation.
This type of door is ideal (and recommended) for automation.
All our insulated insulated roller shutter garage doors are supplied by the market leader SeceuroGlide.
Manufactured from tough twin-walled aluminium slats with an insulating core, the curtain is held in place with high performance webbing that is unaffected by extremes of temperature.
A strong extruded top slat and the patented comb locking mechanism effectively resist attack by would-be intruders.
The range consists of 3 styles (SeceuroGlide, SeceuroGlide Compact and SeceuroGlide Excel) to suit your budget, finish and security requirements.
SeceuroGlide is available in a choice of fifteen paint or wood-effect finishes allowing you to match your door to existing paintwork or double glazing for a co-ordinated look to your home.

Up and Over Canopy Garage Door
An Up and Over Canopy Garage Door when opened extends out beyond the garage by about one-third of the height of the door. It operates in vertical tracks using overhead springs and cables. This type of door is not suitable for automation.
Up and Over Retractable Garage Door
A Retractable Garage Door when opened full retracts into the garage on horizontal tracks. It is operated by springs on the side. This type of door is suitable for automation.
Both types of Up and Over doors are available in Steel, Wood and GRP.
Steel Garage Doors offer a great combination of robust construction and excellent value for money.
Wooden Timber Garage Doors combine the warmth and beauty of real wood and the very best of Whittam garage door engineering. They combine the traditional values of craftsmanship and natural materials and have a character of their own. Timber doors are also sturdy and durable too, making it a sensible choice as well as an aesthetic one.
GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester or Fibreglass) Garage Doors offer a great-looking, low-maintenance door which will be a sound investment for the future, such is their quality of manufacture and inherent strength.
Sectional Garage Door
A Sectional Garage Door is made up of several separate horizontally hinged panels and is opened by a vertical lift action, guided by fixed vertical and horizontal tracks.
The entire door rises vertically upwards and then backwards into the ceiling space.
No door frame is required which increases the available drive-through width.
The doors offer good security and good protection against the weather with a seal all around the door.
Sectional Garage Doors are manufactured in Steel or Aluminium and can be specified with or without insulation.
This type of door is suitable for automation - a soft start/soft stop opener gives a real touch of class.
Side Hinged Garage Door
Side Hinged Garage Doors are side hung and open outwards - and therefore need good clearance when being opened.
Security is enhanced by using overlapping leaves and bolts at the top and bottom of the door. Side Hinged Garage Doors are manufactured in Steel, Timber or GRP.
These doors can be automated using special conversion arms.
